That’s how long we’ve got to earn the votes of the good citizens of Toronto-Danforth – and we’ll do it with a simple message: We’re listening. We’re changing. We want you back.
Thursday night, Liberal members came together and nominated me to represent a proud Liberal tradition in our riding as the candidate for Toronto-Danforth.
I want to thank those Liberals for their support – and I want to say to my incredible, dedicated team of volunteers that I am ready to give this thing everything I’ve got. Thank you in advance for your hard work, long hours and perseverance.
And to all Liberals, if you’d like to help out with the campaign, even from afar, here are a few ways you can get involved.
- Follow me on Twitter or Facebook;
- Follow the Toronto-Danforth Liberal Riding Association on Twitter and Facebook;
- Donate $5 to the Take Toronto-Danforth Campaign; and
- If you live in Toronto, you can sign up as a volunteer or drop by our campaign office at 91 Danforth Avenue and lend a hand.
Ten years ago, I founded an ethical advertising & design firm to help organizations make the world a better place. Now I want to do more. I want to enter the political realm. I can’t sit on the sidelines belly aching about the horrendous job the Conservatives are doing any longer. It’s time to walk the talk.
They say it takes a village to raise a child. Gill Deacon and I have lived on Logan Ave for 15 years; we have three kids at Withrow and Quest. The extraordinary village of Toronto-Danforth has helped our family in countless ways over the years. We cherish this community—a diverse bunch who believe in fairness and equality.
I want to give back. Our country is headed down the wrong path and we can’t sit idly by and just let it happen. I want to go to Ottawa and make your voice heard. “If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem.” Let me be part of your solution.
Thanks again for your support!
